Global Recognition for ‘ADB’s One Health Project steered by Zenex Animal Health’, in Sri Lanka

It is an honour to announce that Asian Development Bank (ADB) – Zenex Animal Health ‘One Health Project’ was recognized amongst the ‘Top 50 global initiatives by the FAO (Food of Agriculture Organization of the United States) ’, selected from 408 applications from 72 FAO Member Nations. The global recognition was received by University of Peradeniya, the regional implementation partner in Sri Lanka.

The training program endeavours at improving animal health practices of veterinarians and small livestock farmers to contain antimicrobial resistance and promote one health in Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal and India. It is executed under the project sponsored and guided by ADB, and in collaboration with Sathguru Management Consultants. It aims at least 40% female participation in farmer training and 15% in veterinarian training, which is a testimony to the organization’s efforts for promoting gender inclusivity in all its initiatives.

The award reflects the collaborative efforts towards the commitment to bring a measurable transformation in sustainable livestock farming.
